BCHET-141: ANALYTICAL METHODS IN CHEMISTRY

Time: 2 Hours Maximum Marks: 50

Note: (i) Answer any ten questions.

(ii) All questions carry equal marks.

1. Explain the Q-test and F-test.

2. A sample was analyzed for desired constituent having 2.62 g as the true value. The results of three measurements were 2.50 g. 2.54 g and 2.52 g. Find the error of the mean (mean error), the percent relative error and the relative accuracy of the mean of the measurements.

3. Write the full forms and structures of the following:

(i) TBP

(ii) TBBP

(iii) TOPO

4. Define and differentiate between terms batch extraction and continuous extraction.

5. Explain chromatography. Who discovered it? How is this technique classified depending on the basis of mobile and stationary phases?
