1. When do you make use of mode as a measure of central tendency ? How do you calculate it ? Explain its relationship with mean and median

2. (a) The daily sales by a shopkeeper are given below (in `)

115, 98, 102, 98, 93.
Calculate the range, mean deviation about mean and the standard deviation.

(b) What are the various measures of central tendency ? How do we choose the most
appropriate out of them ?

3. What is the difference between probability sample and non-probability sample ? Describe
the various types of non-probability sampling

4. What is meant by hypothesis testing ? In this context, explain the concepts of acceptance

5. With the help of a hypothetical example, explain the difference between the inclusive
method and the exclusive method of defining class limits of a class interval.

6. Explain how hypothesis testing is carried out.

(a) Descrete and continuous variables
(b) Applications of Poisson distribution and normal distribution.
