BCOC-134 : BUSINESS MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS
Time : 3 Hours Maximum Marks : 100
Note : (i) Question No. 1 is compulsory. Attempt both Part A and Part B as directed.
(ii) All questions carry equal marks.
1. (a) With the help of examples, explain the properties of determinants.
(b) Explain the functions of statistics with the help of an example.
PART A
Attempt any two questions.
2. A sum of money is deposited by Mr. X which compounds interest annually. The amount at the end of 2 years is 10,816 and at the end of 3 years is 11,248-64. Find the following:
(a) Money deposited by Mr. X
(b) The rate of interest.
3. Find d/dx (y) of the following: (a) y = (x ^ 2 + 5) ^ 3 5 * 4 = 20 (b) y = (x ^ 2 + 5x + 6)(x ^ 2 – 3x + 8) (e) y = 3 ^ x + x ^ 3 + 3x + 3 (d) y = 4u ^ 3 and u = 3x ^ 3 + 5x + 1
4. (a) If the function f:RR be given by f(x) = x ^ 2 + 2 and g: RR be given by g(x) = x/(x – 1) find fog and g of. 10 (b) Explain cost function, revenue function and profit function.
5. Calculate the amount and the compound interest on 8,000 for 2 years, the rates of interest for the successives years being 5% and 6% per annum respectively.

7. (a) Explain the utility of time series analysis with the help of an example.
(b) Discuss the different types of indices with examples.

समय : 3 घण्टे अधिकतम अंक : 100 नोट :
(i) प्रश्न संख्या 1 अनिवार्य है। भाग ‘अ’ तथा भाग ‘ब’ दोनों के उत्तर निर्देशानुसार दीजिए। (
ii) सभी प्रश्नों के अंक समान हैं।
1. (क) उदाहरणों सहित सारणिकों के गुणों की व्याख्या कीजिए ।
(ख) सांख्यिकी के कार्यों की उदाहरण सहित व्याख्या कीजिए ।
भाग अ
किन्हीं दो प्रश्नों के उत्तर दीजिए ।
2. श्रीमान X द्वारा कोई धनराशि चक्रवृद्धि ब्याज पर जमा की गई, जबकि ब्याज प्रति वर्ष संयोजित होता है। 2 वर्षों के अंत में मिश्रधन ₹ 10,816 है तथा 3 वर्षों के अंत में यह मिश्रधन ₹ 11,248-64 है । निम्नलिखित ज्ञात कीजिए :
(क) श्रीमान X द्वारा जमा की गई राशि
(ख) ब्याज की दर
3. निम्नलिखित का ज्ञात dy/dx कीजिए :
(क) y = (x ^ 2 + 5) ^ 3
(ख) y = (x ^ 2 + 5x + 6)(x ^ 2 – 3x + 8)
(ग) y = 3 ^ x + x ^ 3 + 3x + 3
(घ) y = 4u ^ 3 और u = 3x ^ 3 + 5x + 1

4. (क) यदि फलन f / R -> R_{s} f(x) = x ^ 2 + 2 द्वारा दिया गया है और g / R -> R g(x) = x/(x – 1) द्वारा दिया गया है, तो fog और g of ज्ञात कीजिए।
(ख) लागत फलन, राजस्व फलन और लाभ फलन की व्याख्या कीजिए।
5. ₹ 8,000 पर 2 वर्षों के लिए मिश्रधन और चक्रवृद्धि ब्याज की गणना कीजिए। क्रमिक वर्षों के लिए ब्याज दरें क्रमशः 5% और 6% प्रति वर्ष हैं।
7. (क) काल श्रेणी विश्लेषण की उपयोगिता की उदाहरण सहित व्याख्या कीजिए ।
(ख) विभिन्न प्रकार के सूचकांकों की 4उदाहरणों सहित व्याख्या कीजिए ।
