1. Explain with reference to the context any four of the following in about 150 words each :
(a) The lights begin to twinkle from the rocks :
The long day wanes : the slow moon climbs the deep.
Moans round with many voices. Come, my friends,
Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
(b) Lying, robed in snowy white
That loosely flew to left and right–
The leaves upon her falling light–
Thro‟ the noises of the night
She floated down to Camelot.
(c) That‟s my last Duchess painted on the wall,
Looking as if she were alive. I call
That piece a wonder, now; Fra Pandolf‟s hands
Worked busily a day, and there she stands.
(d) Sophocles long ago
Heard it on the Aegean, and it brought
Into his mind the turbid ebb and flow
Of human mystery; we
Find also in the sound a thought,
Hearing it by this distant northern sea.
(e) “For there is no friend like a sister
In calm or stormy weather;
To cheer one on the tedious way,
To fetch one if one goes astray,
To lift one if one totters down,
To strengthen whilst one stands.”
