1. (a) What is Z-ion? How does it affect titration of amino acids?
(b) What are lysosomes? Write their functions. in the cell.
2. (a) Describe fat, oil and waxes with suitable examples.
(b) Describe the classification carbohydrates.
3. Write short notes on any two of the following:
(a) SAR
(b) Drug receptor theory (c) Secondary structure of Proteins.

(b) Explain the role of Golgi bodies in protein processing with the help of a diagram.

6. (a) Write the Kiliani-Fischer synthesis for chain elongation of aldoses
(b) Giving suitable examples, describe storage polysaccharides.
7. (a) Explain the interrelationship among the three metabolic pathways namely, carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
(b) What makes enzymes suitable as therapeutic drug targets?
8. (a) Define genetic code. Explain its significance.
(b) How is alcoholic fermentation in yeast similar to lactate production in skeletal muscles? Explain.

नोट : (i) किन्हीं पाँच प्रश्नों के उत्तर दीजिए। (ii) सभी प्रश्नों के अंक समान हैं।
1. (क) Z-आयन क्या होता है ? ऐमीनो अम्लों के अनुमापन का यह किस प्रकार प्रभावित करता है ?
(ख) लाइसोसोम क्या होते हैं ? कोशिका में इनके प्रकार्य लिखिए।
2. (क) उपयुक्त उदाहरणों के साथ वसा, तेल तथा मोम का वर्णन कीजिए।
(ख) कार्बोहाइड्रटों के वर्गीकरण का वर्णन कीजिए।
3. निम्नलिखित में से किन्हीं दो पर संक्षिप्त टिप्पणियाँ लिखिए :
(क) SAR
(ख) औषध गाही सिद्धान्त
(ग) प्रोटीनों की द्वितीयक संरचना।

4. (क) उपकोशिकीय कोशिकांगों के प्रभाजन की विधि का वर्णन कीजिए।
(ख) एक चित्र की सहायता से प्रोटीन प्रक्रियण में गॉल्जी काय की भूमिका की व्याख्या कीजिए।
5. (क) जैवरासायनिक ऊर्जा रूपान्तरण में ATP की भूमिका का संक्षेप में वर्णन कीजिए।
(ख) ग्लाइकोलिसिस के दौरान ग्लूकोस के ट्राइओस फॉस्फेटों में रूपान्तरण की प्रक्रिया को लिखिए।
6. (क) ऐल्डोसों के श्रृंखला दीर्षीकरण के लिए किल्यानी फिशर संश्लेषण लिखिए।
(ख) उपयुक्त उदाहरण देकर संचय पॉलीसैकेराइडों का वर्णन कीजिए।
7. (क) तीन उपापचयी पथों नामतः कार्बोहाइड्रटों, वसाओं तथा प्रोटीनों के बीच अंतर्सम्बन्ध की व्याख्या कीजिए।
(ख) एंजाइम उपयुक्त चिकित्सा औषधि लक्ष्य क्यों होते हैं ?
8. (क) आनुवंशिक कोड को परिभाषित कीजिए। इसके महत्व की व्याख्या कीजिए।
(ख) कंकाल पेशियों में लैक्टेट का उत्पादन यीस्ट में ऐल्कोहॉली किण्वन से किस प्रकार समानता दर्शाता है ? व्याख्या कीजिए।
